A week in the life of your coach…

Louise meets Louise!

I’m sitting on the 18.23 train from London Euston to Wolverhampton as I write this weeks post. Wow, what a weekend I’ve had! I’ve been to the 2011 ‘I Can Do It’ conference – an annual Hay House event that tours the major cities across the globe. Best-selling authors participate and share their wisdom by running talks and workshops throughout the 3 days.

I’ve wanted to attend for quite a few years but for whatever reason haven’t. But as a newbie Hay House author I decided this was the year! Plus, there was the added bonus of actually meeting the legendary Louise Hay herself. How could I say no. I had to go!

As I arrived at the venue, I don’t think I’ve felt quite so excited in all my life – the prospect of meeting so many like-mined people all in the same room and some of the world’s most respected names in the self-help industry today. Many of these awesome authors were the catalyst for my own personal transformation. I owe so much.

Louise Hay kick-started the weekend with a standing ovation that lasted a lifetime, no word of a lie, it went on forever! As she entered the room the audience literally exploded into a frenzy. It could have been Madonna on the stage, seriously. Don’t forget this is the woman who has sold over 50 million books worldwide; she is the founder of the self-help movement and a pioneer in mind-body healing. She is literally a walking legend. Her energy is truly magnificent.

Derek Lipton followed Louise with his mind-blowing talk on how our beliefs about human nature shape our politics, culture, and individual lives; and how each of us can become planetary “stem cells” supporting the health and growth of our world and every individual in it.

The following day I attended Karl Dawson’s & Sasha Allenby’s workshop on EFT and Matrix Reinprinting and Marianne Williamson’s amazing talk on surrendering to the Divine and lessons for healing your mind & body. Both workshops were outstanding.

But the highlight of the whole weekend has to be meeting Louise Hay. Michelle my editor kindly arranged for me to meet Louise on the Friday evening. I spotted Louise standing at a lectern in the distance looking as beautiful as ever and as I approached her I felt myself regress into a 14 year-old girl, it was like I’d seen Mark Owen from Take That! Seriously! I went all awkward and couldn’t string an intelligent conversation together. Not the best when I was being introduced as one of the new up-and-coming Hay House authors!!! Hopefully she could see through my star-struck silliness!

I can’t remember a great deal, it’s a bit of a blur, but I can remember her squeezing my hands tightly in hers and saying, “Welcome to the family”! I’m still pinching myself now as I think about it! What a moment.

When I embarked on my writing journey, I had no idea how my book would manifest, but I had a strong conviction that Hay House would publish it. There was no other publisher on my radar that I wanted to share my work with. For years I fantasized and visualized being signed by Hay House, I would imagine signing the contracts, meeting the team, seeing my book on the shelf. I would see myself meeting Wayne Dyer, Doreen Virtue and Louise Hay. Even when I felt like giving up (which was often) I never lost this vision. Imagine my surprise when I received a call out of the blue in March this year saying that they were interested in publishing my book! It still amazes me. With a little faith, focus, tenacity and determination you can manifest some truly incredible things in your life! Your mind is the most powerful tool you have. Use it!

In the words of Louise Hay herself: “You are not a helpless victim of your own thoughts, but rather a master of your own mind.”

With love
