Coaching
Q. Who hires a coach?
People who choose to hire a life coach want to live to their full potential and they have come to a point when they are ready and more importantly committed to changing their life. It’s for those who refuse to lie down anymore and accept their lot, for those who are fed up with the rat race and for those who are thinking ‘there has to be more to life than this’. It’s for people who have maybe had a long lost dream that they’d like to uncover, or for those who have decided it’s about time they found their life purpose. There’s no right or wrong, all types of people hire coaches for all different reasons, but you must remember coaching is future and goal focused. Don’t hire a life coach if you want someone to counsel, or fix you.

The first Discovery Session generally takes an hour and a half and subsequent sessions are then one hour long. Sessions are carried out either once a week or every fortnight and take place at my home face to face, or over the telephone or Skype.

Q. Is life coaching like counselling or other forms of therapy?
Sometimes coaching is compared to other methods of therapy, but it’s very different. Counselling and therapy often address dysfunctions and generally focus on past emotional issues, whereas life coaching is mainly focused on the future. Coaching keeps you looking forward at all times helping you to achieve greater success much quicker.

Q. Does a life coach give you advice or answers to your problems?
No, the truth is the answers to all our questions and problems in life lie within ourselves, a coach helps to uncover them and act as the catalyst to enable clients find their own solution. Of course, coach's do make suggestions and share thoughts where they feel appropriate.

Q. Does coaching work?
1998 survey by the International Coaching Federation revealed that 98.5 per cent of clients polled reported their investment in coaching to be highly valuable. The general feedback from clients is that by using a coach, you become incredibly focused and therefore produce results faster. I believe coaching is growing at a phenomenal rate precisely because it does work.
