Success Stories

Below are some stories of how my coaching has helped people bring their dreams alive.

Gemma's Australian Dream

I met Gemma at the 2009 One Life Live exhibition at London Olympia. We had a brief conversation where she told me she had recently broken off her engagement, was unemployed and was in desperate need of a new direction in life. She had lost confidence in herself and was fed up living within her comfort zone; she was in need of a change.

Gemma decided that maybe coaching was what she needed to get things back on track and signed up for one of my coaching programmes.

On our first coaching session she set herself three big juicy goals, one was to relocate to a brand new location either in the UK or abroad, the second was to find a new career path and the third, was to find an exciting new hobby.

One of the first things we did together was to establish Gemma’s core values, not only would this help on the career front, it would also help with deciding where to relocate too. Defining our values helps us to really get to know ourselves at a much deeper level and helps us understand what makes us tick. When we can start to build our lives around our values, we become much more fulfilled and content. We also took some time to look at Gemma’s ‘beliefs’ and addressed any self-sabotaging thoughts that were getting in the way of her making positive changes to her life. Adopting the right mindset is essential when achieving any big goal.

Gemma started making rapid changes immediately; sometimes it’s simply just making the decision that we’ve had enough and something needs to change, which galvanises us into action. Gemma was certainly ready to make some changes and was totally committed to finding a new and better way to live.

She started doing lots of research into various career options that utilised her natural abilities, she started trying out new activities and hobbies and also started exploring new exciting locations in which to relocate.
There was no stopping her!

Gemma finally decided that she was going to sell up and move to Australia for 12 months to see how she liked living there, as it had all the criteria she was looking for, outdoor lifestyle, good weather, family, great social life, and so on. In the short time while she was waiting for her house to sell in Plymouth she moved in with her friend in Surrey and found two jobs that were right up her street, one working at a sailing club and the other working with youngsters at an outdoor activity centre.

Gemma finally feels like things are heading in the right direction again, she is more positive about where her future is heading and generally happier as a whole. She is really enjoying going to work and wakes up in the morning with a spring in her step, looking forward to the day ahead.

Coaching has enabled Gemma to talk to someone who didn't tell her what to do, but encouraged her to think more about who she is and what she really wants from the rest of her life.

She’s learnt that she is a very confident and motivated person and always has been, she'd simply just lost her way over recent years. More importantly, she’s learnt to trust her inner guidance and follow her own intuition.
Gemma is making the final preparations to move to Perth this coming September and her long term plan is to set up her own outdoor activity centre. Watch this space!

Here’s what Gemma has to say:

“Within 4 months I have sold my house, am in a job I love, and moving to OZ, I have literally turned my life around and truly believe I could not have achieved nearly as much without Louise – thank you!”

Lisa's Cafe Desire

Myself and Lisa at the launch of Cafe Desire

I met Lisa early last year. She had two distinct goals that were priority for her at that present moment in time. The first was to increase turnover on her existing catering business and the second was to open a café bar selling delicious sandwiches and coffee.

As we began working on Lisa goals she made rapid progress. But about half way through she started hitting a roadblock with the premises she was trying to purchase for her café bar. Every direction she turned there seemed to be yet another obstacle. I remember one particular session where Lisa told me she’d had enough and maybe she was doing the wrong thing (which is a coaches worst nightmare!).

Then came the breakthrough…

Lisa had been so intent on buying the shop in her mind that she hadn’t given other premises a second thought until an un-missable offer came up.

Lisa’s plans changed over night and she put an offer in on a new shop, which not only had a better layout but was in a far better location too. She was thrilled and so was I. Things finally got moving again and Lisa got her motivation back. The months that followed were really hard work as she found herself organised kitchen equipment, furniture, signage, menus, recruiting staff etc. It was a busy time.

But I’m pleased to say it all came together - on the 4th October Lisa celebrated the opening launch of Café Desire! I was fortunate to be invited along to the champagne launch party and I have posted a few photos for you to share in this special occasion.

So if you’re ever in Coventry why not pop in for a coffee and if you’re ever in need of a excellent caterer for a special occasion visit Lisa’s website below.

Here's what Lisa has to say:

"Louise you are a truly amazing person, the coaching I have received over the last few months has been fantastic and as you know I am about 2 weeks off opening my first Cafe Bar!!!! Which was one of my major goals in life! I have no doubt in my mind that if I had not had such supportive coaching it would have taken me twice as long to reach this goal! You are one of the most positive people in my life and I look forward to making more of my Dreams come true with you!"

Caroline's trekking adventure

During our initial trial coaching session we talked at length about all areas of Caroline’s life, work, home, fun, physical environment, relationships and health. What was very apparent early on in our conversation was Caroline’s love for animals. Every time she mentioned animals her face lit up and she became so much more animated. She told me her real love was for llamas and often dreamt of looking out on to her garden and seeing a couple of llamas happily grazing. But she insisted that it was just a dream that wasn’t really realistic. After a little coaxing Caroline decided that maybe now was the right time to start taking this dream a little bit more seriously, she’d had enough of dreaming, and maybe just maybe now was the right time to start to make things happen.

Caroline’s llama journey had begun.

With my coaching guidance, she started off by booking a llama trekking day for herself and her family, she then proceeded to research where llamas where bred, what kind of care they needed, land, the logistics of transporting them etc. There was a lot to find out and lots to organise. But the more research she did the more confident she became that this wonderful dream was in actual fact achievable.Caroline and I worked together for a few months and when we parted company she had a solid plan of action under her belt. She promised she’d keep in contact and would let me know how she was progressing. About 10 months later I received an e-mail saying that she’d just picked up her beautiful llamas, Comet and Mercury. I was so thrilled that Caroline had brought her dream to fruition and I couldn’t wait to meet them. So many people have these so called ‘pipe dreams’ and spend years day dreaming about how wonderful their life would be if only they had more time, money, resource, support or whatever to make their dreams come true.So let me ask you... what is it you've always dreamt of doing but never have?

Caroline’s story is testament to the fact that dreams can come true BUT YOU have to make it happen! Both Comet and Mercury are still very young but Caroline plans in the future to run local trekking days and I intend to be her first customer! Below are a few pictures of myself, Caroline, her amazing creatures.

Here's what Caroline has to say:

"I don’t know what made me want llamas. I had always been mad on animals and then my neighbour talked about llama trekking. It coincided with my trying to do my shopping without using a car and I started to dream about shopping with a llama and panniers. When you have a dream like that the problems of making it come true seem to be insurmountable to begin with. Louise was invaluable in making me realise that it was possible and in getting me to set an achievable goal (just being ready to buy my first llamas). She responded with enthusiasm to my ramblings. She listened and helped me solve my own problems. More than anything else, she made me believe that I could do it. On a practical level, Louise got me to break down the goal into steps that were all possible… and somehow it just happened! The day I actually had my llamas was as momentous as the day my children had been born. I kept having to pinch myself to make sure it was real. Now, it’s five months later and I’m so glad that I didn’t sit back and let my dream be just that, a dream."

Carl's big bike adventure

Carl was very clear about what it was he wanted to achieve. He was fed up watching the years pass by and decided 2008 was the year he was going to make some exciting changes to his life. Carl wanted to pass his bike test, but not only did he want to pass his test he also wanted accomplish a bike based challenge raising money for charity.

Carl admitted to being a bit of a procrastinator, he liked to start projects but found it very hard to keep the momentum up once he got going. He knew that having a coach would give him the accountability he needed to achieve his demanding goal.

Carl’s journey started off by first taking is theory test; following by is CBT and finally a 4-day intensive course culminating in the final bike best. I’m pleased to say Carl passed first time and in his words as now a fully-fledged ‘hairy biker’!

Carl is now in the process was organising in UK bike challenge for Spring next year... watch this space.

Here is what Carl has to say:

"I've always wanted to get my bike licence but somehow never got round to it (you know how it goes... life gets in the way of your personal achievements), but after watching the TV series 'The long way round' where Ewan McGreggor and Charlie Boorman travel round the world on two BMW bikes and my passion were fired up and I took my CBT (enough to ride a moped with L plates anyway). As one of life's eternal procrastinators again I did nothing and my CBT expired.

Then 'The long way down' came on TV and I loved it. This time I made a promise to myself I would do something about it. Personally I think the hardest things to overcome when you have an idea of a project are procrastination, motivation and simply not knowing where on earth to start which is why I decided a coach would help me. What did surprise me was Louise helped me to discovered why I tended to sabotage myself in everything I did (too busy, not enough cash, etc, etc) and I quickly found I ran out of excuses as to why I couldn't do something. With that understanding I gained complete clarity, confidence and motivation to quickly achieve my goals - I even met the man who gave me the inspiration to do this, mate of Ewan Mr Charlie Boorman.

Firstly, I took my driving theory test (and as someone who has been driving for 22 years I can highly recommend everyone sitting this), passed my CBT again, then took an intensive training course and passed my Direct Access test first time. I am now officially a member of the biking community!!

My big adventure doesn't stop there though, I'm planning to accomplish a challenge for a charity where to?.. I'm not sure but when I do I'll make sure to keep you posted and I'm so proud to be able to say 2008 a year where I did something different with my life. In the meantime I hope you enjoy my pics."

Niyah's Story

Why did I choose to have life coaching?

I had reached a point in my life where I felt lost, unfocussed and very unhappy. My life just seemed to be something that happened to me and I was just there to go along for the ride, whether good or bad. I never felt in control.
I realised that I wasn’t where I had expected to be at this point in my life and felt helpless to do anything about it.

What did I find in Louise that helped me?

I met Louise at the ‘One Life event’. She had an energy about her that was warm, and a kind, genuine face, which was full of enthusiasm.

How did Louise help me?

Louise helped me to identify the areas of my life that I felt the most unhappiest about. The guidance she gave me helped me to break down my problem into more manageable, less overwhelming fragments. Up until that point I knew that something in my life was making me unhappy, I had just never identified what or how.

During our sessions together she helped me get to know myself by understanding what makes me truly happy. She made me realise that I’d fallen into a pattern of negativity that was self-perpetuating. By having step-by-step goals, she helped me change my behaviour and thought patterns to more favourable ones that have made a world of difference to how I feel, and the way I now think.

She has helped me become more confident. To understand and respect myself, and most importantly get to know my own needs and realise that this is the most wonderful thing that you can ever do.

Louise has helped me discover myself, to accept my current situation and to take responsibility for it. To understand how my own actions have led me here and also accept that my future actions will move me forward to where I want to be.

I have discovered talents that I never knew I had. I have joined a sewing class, and watercolour painting. I make jewellery and have started to do photography. I cycle, have increased my spiritual awareness through meditation, increased my social life and friend’s circle, and had a bit of romance along the way too!

I have learned to be happy, to have faith in myself and am becoming more and more confident day by day. Louise has given me positive encouragement and energy with complete trust and faith. She is a truly wonderful person.
I now have more motivation and am becoming infinitely more productive (something I thought I just wasn’t capable of before). I have learned that I don’t have to be perfect and also, the most important thing… to enjoy the ride!

Thank you Louise.
