Caroline's trekking adventure
During our initial trial coaching session we talked at length about all areas of Caroline’s life, work, home, fun, physical environment, relationships and health. What was very apparent early on in our conversation was Caroline’s love for animals. Every time she mentioned animals her face lit up and she became so much more animated. She told me her real love was for llamas and often dreamt of looking out on to her garden and seeing a couple of llamas happily grazing. But she insisted that it was just a dream that wasn’t really realistic. After a little coaxing Caroline decided that maybe now was the right time to start taking this dream a little bit more seriously, she’d had enough of dreaming, and maybe just maybe now was the right time to start to make things happen.
Caroline’s llama journey had begun.
With my coaching guidance, she started off by booking a llama trekking day for herself and her family, she then proceeded to research where llamas where bred, what kind of care they needed, land, the logistics of transporting them etc. There was a lot to find out and lots to organise. But the more research she did the more confident she became that this wonderful dream was in actual fact achievable.Caroline and I worked together for a few months and when we parted company she had a solid plan of action under her belt. She promised she’d keep in contact and would let me know how she was progressing. About 10 months later I received an e-mail saying that she’d just picked up her beautiful llamas, Comet and Mercury. I was so thrilled that Caroline had brought her dream to fruition and I couldn’t wait to meet them. So many people have these so called ‘pipe dreams’ and spend years day dreaming about how wonderful their life would be if only they had more time, money, resource, support or whatever to make their dreams come true.So let me ask you... what is it you've always dreamt of doing but never have?
Caroline’s story is testament to the fact that dreams can come true BUT YOU have to make it happen! Both Comet and Mercury are still very young but Caroline plans in the future to run local trekking days and I intend to be her first customer! Below are a few pictures of myself, Caroline, her amazing creatures.

Carl's big bike adventure
Carl was very clear about what it was he wanted to achieve. He was fed up watching the years pass by and decided 2008 was the year he was going to make some exciting changes to his life. Carl wanted to pass his bike test, but not only did he want to pass his test he also wanted accomplish a bike based challenge raising money for charity.
Carl admitted to being a bit of a procrastinator, he liked to start projects but found it very hard to keep the momentum up once he got going. He knew that having a coach would give him the accountability he needed to achieve his demanding goal.
Carl’s journey started off by first taking is theory test; following by is CBT and finally a 4-day intensive course culminating in the final bike best. I’m pleased to say Carl passed first time and in his words as now a fully-fledged ‘hairy biker’!
Carl is now in the process was organising in UK bike challenge for Spring next year... watch this space.
Here is what Carl has to say:
"I've always wanted to get my bike licence but somehow never got round to it (you know how it goes... life gets in the way of your personal achievements), but after watching the TV series 'The long way round' where Ewan McGreggor and Charlie Boorman travel round the world on two BMW bikes and my passion were fired up and I took my CBT (enough to ride a moped with L plates anyway). As one of life's eternal procrastinators again I did nothing and my CBT expired.
Then 'The long way down' came on TV and I loved it. This time I made a promise to myself I would do something about it. Personally I think the hardest things to overcome when you have an idea of a project are procrastination, motivation and simply not knowing where on earth to start which is why I decided a coach would help me. What did surprise me was Louise helped me to discovered why I tended to sabotage myself in everything I did (too busy, not enough cash, etc, etc) and I quickly found I ran out of excuses as to why I couldn't do something. With that understanding I gained complete clarity, confidence and motivation to quickly achieve my goals - I even met the man who gave me the inspiration to do this, mate of Ewan Mr Charlie Boorman.
Firstly, I took my driving theory test (and as someone who has been driving for 22 years I can highly recommend everyone sitting this), passed my CBT again, then took an intensive training course and passed my Direct Access test first time. I am now officially a member of the biking community!!My big adventure doesn't stop there though, I'm planning to accomplish a challenge for a charity where to?.. I'm not sure but when I do I'll make sure to keep you posted and I'm so proud to be able to say 2008 a year where I did something different with my life. In the meantime I hope you enjoy my pics."
